Its that time again, to rake and burn leaves and get ready for cold weather.
Alexander City Horse Riding Club had a very good season this year. We had good shows and were well represented at the 2003 Alabama Open Horseman Association State Show. We came home with several awards. You can view some pictures that were made at the show on the AOHA website www.showaoha.org.
We would like to congratulate all the ACHRC winners at the State Show. I cannot name them all, but if you will look at the website above you can view the top 10 placings in each class and photos of some of the winners.
We were represented well in all areas of the Show. Dee Huckeba came away with three first place wins - first time we have had a gaited champion. Kyle Jordan, Gene Dorris, and several others did well in halter. Katie Turner won the Youth Saddle and Kristi Norris won Reserve Adult Western Pleasure Division. And we had a number of top 20 winners in the timed event classes. We nominated Gene Dorris, Keith Jordan, Sidney Turner (Mr. Sid), Madeline Lashley to the AOHA HALL OF FAME. Again, congratulates to all who placed and those that did not, good luck next year!
We had two trail rides this year. The rides were good, but our attendance was off a bit this year. Hope you put us on your calendar for rides next year. The dates have not been selected at the present time, but keep check on the website, and notices will also be mailed.
We have selected show dates, which can be viewed on the show section. Make your plans to come to the shows, and please volunteer your time to help when called upon.
At the November Meeting we elected officers and board members:
The Club Supper is planned for Saturday, December 6th and the Christmas Parade is Monday, December 8th. You will be getting an invitation in the mail for the above or you can veiw them on the website. Year-End Awards will be given the night of the supper. Look for pictures and another newsletter at that time.
Come join us for shows and trail rides next year!
